DANONE CANADA NAMED ONE OF CANADA’S TOP 100 EMPLOYERS FOR SECOND STRAIGHT YEAR

This renewed recognition attests to Danone Canada’s commitment to its employees, who embrace and embody the company’s mission to bring health through food to as many people as possible.

Boucherville, Quebec, and Mississauga, Ontario, November 13, 2020 — For the second year in a row, Danone Canada, one of the country’s leading multi-category food and beverage companies, has been named one of Canada’s Top 100 Employers. This prestigious distinction rewards the efforts and programs put in place to create a dynamic and safe work environment where some 500 employees can make a concrete and positive contribution to the health of people and the planet.

“This year, more than ever, I’ve been genuinely inspired by the courage and compassion of our employees, who brilliantly kept our business running smoothly in these most trying times. Their dedication and talents drive our commitment of using our business as a force for good,” said Dan Magliocco, Danone Canada’s president.

Highlights
At its head offices in Boucherville, Quebec, and Mississauga, Ontario, Danone Canada is committed to providing a dynamic work environment, caring for its employees and offering socially responsible practices that allow its teams to thrive.

Several factors have contributed to this second nomination for Danone.

  • Support for employees. In the early days of the pandemic, before government directives were issued, Danone Canada took decisive steps to quickly implement robust safety protocols for both corporate and plant employees. Soon afterward, the company launched “What Do You Think?”, a bi-weekly discussion group where employees could voice their concerns as the health crisis unfolded. Since then, Danone Canada has offered many learning virtual sessions to its employees, and management has been meeting frequently with their teams over videoconferencing to learn about their challenges and suggestions. Mental health was also at the forefront of this year’s priorities: Danone Canada made sure that its employees had the necessary resources and tools to find a balance during these trying times.
  • Community outreach. Now more than ever, Danone Canada is committed to better the well-being of its communities by living its mission of bringing health through food to as many people as possible. Since the health crisis began, the company donated a record amount of more than 3,900,000 products and $200,000 to charitable organizations across the country, in addition to employees’ volunteer hours and monetary donations.
  • Continuous learning. Danone Canada offers a wealth of opportunities for continuous personal and professional development through innovative virtual and in person trainings. Employees are encouraged to take charge of their careers and contribute to the company’s agenda by sharing their visions for the future.
  • Inclusion and diversity. Danone Canada is a diversified company where people are encouraged to grow. In keeping with its values of openness and humanism, the company fosters diversity as an essential source of innovation and empowers its employees to showcase their true selves.

“As a fast-growing food and beverage company, we’re challenging the notion that success is only based on financial returns.” added Dan Magliocco. “We believe in putting our employees at the forefront of what we do, through our innovative governance model, to deliver on our mission to bring health through food to as many people as possible”.

Danone’s desire to use business as a force for good, balancing financial interests with social and environmental benefits for people, their communities and the planet, is reflected in its B Corp™ certification. As the largest consumer-oriented company in the country to have obtained this certification, Danone is committed to the highest standards of social and environmental performance, accountability and transparency.
