Our Values and Behaviours

Our Values and Behaviours

At Danone, our HOPE values—Humanism, Openness, Proximity, and Enthusiasm—are at the heart of everything we do. These values guide our actions and decisions, fostering an environment where inclusivity and collaboration thrive. Humanism drives us to believe in responsibility, authenticity and respect, Openness encourages dialogue, curiosity and trust, Proximity ensures that we build close relationships which leads to better understanding and trust, and Enthusiasm brings energy, passion and boldness to our work.

Our Danone Behaviours further support these values by promoting accountability, agility, and a commitment to continuous improvement. Together, these principles empower us to create a workplace where everyone feels valued and motivated to contribute their best.

Our Culture: Danone Is What I Do

Our Culture: Danone Is What I Do

The essence of Danone’s culture can be encapsulated in the phrase: “Danone is what I do.” This reflects our collective commitment to living our values and behaviours every day. Our culture is built on the belief that every employee plays a crucial role in our mission to bring health through food.

We strive to create a supportive and dynamic, people-centric environment where innovation and collaboration are encouraged, and where everyone feels comfortable sharing their ideas and perspectives. By embracing our HOPE values and Danone Behaviours, we cultivate a sense of belonging and purpose, making Danone not just a place to work, but a community where we all step out, contribute to a greater good, and drive impact and growth.

Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion (DEI) is in our DNA, it is who we are. As a global organisation, this was expressed in 1972 when our then Global CEO Antoine Riboud debuted Danone’s dual commitment to business success and social progress by stating that “a company’s responsibility does not end at the factory or office doorstep”.

Our continued commitment to this “Dual Project” keeps us focused on maintaining brands that are reflective of the Canadian consumer demographic and creating sustainable impact externally by amplifying and advocating for DEI through a team of diverse and authentically thriving Danoners.

We accomplish this through a focus on three priorities:

  • People:  Fostering a diverse workforce and nurturing an inclusive environment in which employees can thrive authentically.

  • Brands: Maintaining brands that reflect the diversity of our consumers and are loved by diverse consumers and collaborating with a broad network.

  • Partners: Engaging with communities through volunteering our time and resources to diverse organizations. We are committed to supporting our core values through active participation and advocacy.

Danoners have access to various training initiatives, both in-house and online because we value and prioritize their growth and development.

We also offer mentoring, leadership development programs, and tuition reimbursement to support their career advancement.
